Team Asthma is a collection of doctors, researchers, lab technicians, and staff working together to help asthma sufferers better understand and treat their disease. We hope through research we can contribute to new ways of thinking about and treating asthma.
Established in 2009 as part of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine division of UPMC, the Asthma Institute now boasts a research registry with over 700 participants–but we could always use more!
That’s where you fit in. This blog is dedicated to you: the research participant, the asthma sufferer, the parent or friend of an asthma sufferer. We’re here to answer your questions about asthma, medicine, research studies and much more. We hope to demystify clinical research and what it means to be a participant. We’ll post about what goes on here, who works here, and just exactly how to use an inhaler. Interested? Follow this blog and follow us on Twitter.
